After more than 30 years on the radio in St. Louis, Bill Wilkerson’s career was abruptly interrupted on Friday when he was informed his services are no longer needed at KTRS 550AM.
Long time morning show host Wilkerson and Wendy Weise were among a dozen personalities jettisoned in a purge that will bring several “shock jocks” to the radio.
Among those losing their jobs are Randy Karraker, McGraw Milhaven, Jim Holder and Kevin Horrigan.
President Tim Dorsey says the staff is changing because KTRS programming is changing. Dorsey says, “We are not Howard Stern. We are not going to be anything close to Howard Stern if that’s what people construe as ‘shock’ and who ever is throwing that term around doesn’t know what he or she is talking about.”
