The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s office on Sunday charged a 47-year-old truck driver with first-degree murder in connection with the strangulation death of a St. Louis woman, police said.

Police said they were responding to the intersection of Emerson and West Florissant Avenues around 8:40 a.m. Saturday for a report of a lewd act when they found Michael Jackson and Yolanda Curry inside the cab of a semi tractor-trailer. Curry, 42, of St. Louis, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy showed Curry died by manual strangulation. Police said she had scrape marks on her throat and a bite mark on her hand.

The report also said Jackson had scratch marks on his face.

On Sunday, relatives, including niece NaSheena Scott, gathered to remember Curry.

Jackson and Curry were found in a company vehicle for Tri-National Inc., a transportation business based in Earth City, Mo.
