According to the prosecutor, Larry Flenoid fatally shot his girlfriend’s brother-in-law on May 6, 2000, then kidnapped his girlfriend, and planned to kill her but she escaped by trying to jump from the passenger side of Flenoid’s car.

Flenoid is facing a charge in St. Louis County Circuit Court of first-degree murder in the death of Ricky Forehand, 39, who was shot in the chest at his home in the 10800 block of Hallwood Court in north St. Louis County.

Prosecutor Dean Waldemer is seeking the death penalty.

In opening statements, Waldemer said Flenoid kidnapped Ursula Page, forcing her into his car at gunpoint. She left the passenger door slightly ajar fearing Flenoid intended to kill her, too.

Flenoid, 56, a reputed drug dealer here during the 1980s, is already serving a life sentence for several federal violations stemming from the alleged murder and kidnapping.
