One man was slain and another wounded in a shooting today at a beauty supply store in Washington Park.
A police officer at the scene said the victims were the owners of the store, Caseyville Discount Beauty Supply. Details remain sketchy, but police and people living near the store said today’s shooting apparently had followed another shootout on Thursday.
In today’s shooting, police said at least two men wearing ski masks had entered the store and begun firing.
Police say the dead man was 27 years old. He was pronounced dead at Kenneth Hall Hospital in East St. Louis.
Police say his brother was shot in the leg. They are checking the video from security cameras at the store.
The store was once a grocery called Royal Land Food Store. It sits near the intersection of Caseyville Avenue and 48th Street.
