The Special Friends Extended Mentor Program, which invites professionals from the community to come to schools and mentor students on life skills, celebrated 12 years on September 7 with a donor/mentor appreciation reception at Bissingers Chocolatier in the Central West End. The program empowers 1,500 students in North County through mentoring and awarding students that maintain good grades and good character. Centene Corporation and Church On The Rock were the major donors.
