Running back Stephen Jackson rushed for 122 yard and Jeff Wilkins booted six field goals as the underdog St. Louis Rams upset the Denver Broncos on Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome.

Rams starters produced no touchdowns in 11 possessions in the preseason, and had the ball 11 more times without reaching the end zone.

Six field goals from Wilkins, including kicks from 51 and 48 yards, broke a team record set in 1951 and accounted for all the scoring.

“I’m a little tired, but it feels good,” Wilkins told the Associated Press.

“It’s a crazy way to come out and start, but I’ll tell you what, I’ll take it. I’m glad they went through.”

“My offensive line stuck with me,” said Jackson.

“A couple of times in the game they got the best of us in some drives. Hats of to Coach (Dave) Linehan and the offensive coordinator. They stuck with the run. That’s something we’re not used to around here.”
