Police are searching for a suspect who used a bogus gun in a Bridgeton robbery.
It happened at a Motel 6 in Bridgeton on Monday evening.
Authorities say that two robbers approached a motel guest pointing what appeared to be a firearm. The victim did not know the weapon was not real, and gave up cash, jewelry and car keys.
The victim, who had a concealed-carry permit, shot at the robbers and hit one in the hand and leg. That suspect is now in custody.
After the shooting, the would-be robbers fled. The wounded suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment of his wounds. The second robber remains at large.
