Police are investigating an early morning gun battle outside of an East St. Louis club that left three men dead.
Investigators told KMOV-TV a confrontation broke out between two groups of men inside Club VIP, located in the 6800 block of State Street, at 2:15 Sunday morning. The incident led to a shooting that killed three men and injured two others.
Police say the men were kicked out of the club, where the conflict escalated into a gun battle.
Two men, ages 20 and 21, died of gunshot wounds at the scene. Three others were transported to St. Louis hospitals for treatment, where two 18-year-olds were treated and released. A 19-year-old man was listed in critical condition, and later died from his injuries.
