An 18-year-old is sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting into a mob that he believed came to his Spanish Lake house to fight him.

Ahryal King entered an Alford plea on Monday to charges of second-degree murder, assault and armed criminal action. The plea means he didn’t admit the crime but acknowledged there was enough evidence for a conviction.

Authorities have said the teenager and his mother, Alma King, fired into a crowd that gathered outside their suburban St. Louis home in 2007.

Fifteen-year-old Jocquees Billups was killed and a second teen was injured. Alma King was sentenced to four years in prison last year for second-degree assault.
