State Rep. Shamed Dogan (R-Ballwin) wants to hear from you if you were turned away at the polls in St. Louis County on April 5.
House Speaker Todd Richardson (R-Poplar Bluff) appointed Dogan to chair the House Task Force on Election Procedures and Accountability in order to investigate the ballot issues that disenfranchised numerous voters in St. Louis County on election day.
The task force will hold a joint hearing next Wednesday, April 13 with the Special Committee on Urban Affairs to hear testimony from the St. Louis County elections directors and the Missouri secretary of state regarding the election.
“I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the failure of St. Louis County election authorities and the secretary of state to conduct an election that allowed the voices of all voters to be heard,” Dogan said.
“It is completely unacceptable that voters had their rights trampled on by being turned away because of the failure to provide a sufficient number of ballots to over 60 polling places across the county. In my home city of Ballwin alone, this occurred in 4 of 17 polling places.”
If you or someone you know were turned away from the polls on April 5, call Dogan at 573-751-4392 or email shamed.dogan@house.mo.gov.
