Texas police are investigating a shocking murder.
It began Friday night when Jana Shearer was visited by her boyfriend, 25-year-old Christopher Lee McCuin, at the home of her mother.
The couple went outside to talk, and that was the last time Shearer was seen alive.
At 9 o’clock Saturday morning, McCuin went to his mother’s house in Tyler.
McCuin showed his mother and her boyfriend Shearer’s body, lying lifeless in the back seat of his truck.
She had been severely beaten over the head with a blunt object and was dead. McCuin’s mother and her boyfriend then left the scene and called 911.
That’s when Sheriff J.B. Smith says the case took an unthinkable turn. McCuin actually called 9-1-1 himself. “He gave us the full story, said he did in fact kill his girlfriend. When we went inside we found part of human body on a plate with a fork in it,” Sheriff Smith said.
Her severed ear was also on the stove in boiling water.
The one thing McCuin is not admitting to is where he killed her to begin with. Sheriff Smith says that it wasn’t in his truck, and it wasn’t at his mother’s house.
McCuin is charged with capital murder and is in the Smith County Jail. His bond is set at more than two million dollars.
Investigators also believe that the same night Shearer was killed, McCuin stabbed another man, who remains hospitalized in intensive care.
They say McCuin also broke into a local business. Shearer’s body has been taken into custody for an autopsy.
