10,000 St. Louis and metro east residents are still in the dark following yesterday’s severe thunderstorms.
AmerenUE is working to restore power after a brief but powerful storm swept through the St. Louis area.
The storm on Tuesday damaged homes, knocked the facade off the Renaissance St. Louis Hotel downtown and downed trees and limbs. It also caused outages for about 50,000 customers at its peak.
By Wednesday morning, about 10,000 customers on both sides of the Mississippi River were still without power. Ameren officials say all power should be restored by Thursday morning.
