The owner of Galez Towing and Recovery will spend 10 years in prison for his role in a drug trafficking ring.

The U.S. Attorney says Bruce Gales was sentenced today for conspiring to distribute in excess of five kilos of cocaine and conspiring to commit money laundering. He pleaded guilty in May.

Officials say the scheme began in January 2005. Another man, Robert Wood III, knew when the drugs would be delivered and would ask a Hillsdale police officer, Christopher Cornell, to arrest the couriers. While the couriers were being processed, Wood and Gales would break into the vehicles and take the cocaine.

Wood is scheduled to be sentenced on October 18. Cornell was sentenced to 48 months in prison in July.
