Police are searching for several suspects wanted for an overnight smash and grab at the Family Dollar store located in the 5500 block of Southwest Avenue.
Police were called to the store in south St. Louis around 4:30 a.m. after an alarm was going off at the business. When officers arrived they found the front window smashed out and a large safe missing.
Police believe a tow truck found abandoned a block away was used to drag the safe from the building. That truck was reported stolen from north St. Louis.
The suspects were last seen fleeing the scene in a large white economy van.
