According to police, the incident occured directly beneath a surveillance camera and they believe the assailant planned to meet his victims in the parking lot.
The shooter then reportedly jumped in the backseat of the victims car and fired. Both victims died at the scene.
Police say the suspect jumped into a waiting burgundy car and drove off.
Captain Michael Sack of the St. Louis Police Department says, “The third person is probably known to the two victims because he was in the backseat of the car. If somebody’s going to be sitting in your car, you’re most likely going to be comfortable with them. So they probably do know one another.”
