Completely isolated incidents with gunfire have resulted in the death of two citizens.
A 14-year-old who was shot while he was with friends died from his injuries. St. Louis Metropolitan Police said an unknown person approached the group and shot Nathan Walker in the head while he was in the 5500 block of Ashland on Sunday at 1:46 a.m.
He was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
A couple of hours later Shevette Chambers, 30, was killed outside a landmark St. Louis diner. According to Police Chambersate breakfast with friends and the suspect at the Eat Rite Diner at Chouteau and 7th Street around 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
As the group left the diner, a woman believed to be the suspect’s girlfriend arrived in the parking lot and argument began. Police said Chambers said something to the suspect, and then the suspect pulled out a gun and shot her multiple times.
Chambers was taken to an area hospital with gunshot wounds to her face, chest, abdomen and thigh.
The suspect was last seen leaving the parking lot with another man in a white SUV.
