The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis Housing Department has limited mortgage assistance for St. Louis City and County residents whom are behind on their mortgage and/or facing default.

Homeowners must act now, because this opportunity is only available until June 15, 2010.

“We strongly urge homeowners facing hardship to call an Urban League Housing Counselor,” said James H. Buford, Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis president.

Homeowners will learn more about the Making Home Affordable program, a federal program which is aimed at preventing foreclosure and keeping families in their home. Housing Counseling staff at the Urban League will provide information and make referrals to other programs, as well. Homeowners may call to make an appointment and walk-ins are available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

For more information, call 314-615-3608 for St. Louis City Homeowners and 314-506-5310 for St. Louis County Homeowners.
