Because of the bitter cold, St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger has called for the opening of the warming centers at the Affton Community Center at 9801 MacKenzie Road and the St. Vincent Community Center at 7335 St. Charles Rock Road.
The centers will be open from 6pm tonight until 8am Monday morning. Meals will be provided along with sleeping accommodations and medical care. “Please spread the word about our warming centers to those in need of shelter,” Stenger said. “Our staff is dedicated to the safety and well being of everyone and the centers will be open this winter when the temperature is 20 degrees or colder.”
