Bands of heavy snow continue around the metro area. So far, snowfall amounts have been up to ten inches in the metro area. Steelville, Missouri has seen 11.0″ this morning and an early afternoon report of 14 inches in Hillsboro, Missouri!
Four to eight inches of snow will be common across much of the area with some spots getting more than eight inches of snow under the heavier snow bands. Thunder will occur in the heavier snowbands which would result in snowfall rates of about two to three inches an hour or more and those areas may approach eight to twelve inch accumulations or more.
