Aldermen John Collins-Muhammad from the 21st Ward and Brandon Bosley

African-American Aldermen elected Aldermen John Collins-Muhammad from the 21st Ward and Brandon Bosley from the 3rd Ward to as the coordinators to lead the African-American Aldermanic Caucus. The African-American Aldermanic Caucus includes 10 members of the Board of Aldermen representing the needs and interest of the city’s black communities.

“Our city stands at a crossroads, and we’re going to have to come together as a community to better serve our neighborhoods as well as to advance our agenda,” Collins-Muhammad said. “It’s an honor to be chosen by my colleagues to help advance the caucus, and I’m excited to work under our caucus chairman, Alderman Terry Kennedy (18th Ward), who for over a decade has been a dedicated servant to our communities and the city as a whole. Our work is cut out for us and right now, we must move forward in a unified manner.”

Bosley said, “We must reach our people. We have to push for an economic and social agenda that they can believe in and support. The North side is a gem and when politicians understand that, they work harder, and when they work harder, the people can see that.”

Both were first elected in April.

Collins-Muhammad is the youngest alderman in St. Louis history at the age of 25. Bosley is the son of longtime Alderman Freeman Bosley Sr. and brother of the St. Louis’ first African-American mayor, Freeman Bosley Jr.
