Ashley Nicole Parham, 18, perished in an automobile accident on May 27, 2009 in Midwest City, Oklahoma near Oklahoma City. She is the daughter of Cdr. Melton D. Parham (USN Reserve and currently a pilot with UPS) and Cynthia D. Parham. The Parhams are former St. Louisans. Cdr. Parham is a graduate of University City High School and the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Ashley is the granddaughter of St. Louis’ own Rev. Douglas Parham who serves as pastor of the Community Church of God in Black Jack and is immediate past president of the St. Louis Metropolitan Clergy Coalition.
Ashley recently graduated from Carl Albert High School in Oklahoma City on Saturday, May 23 and planned to matriculate at the University of Central Oklahoma this fall. This amazing and beautiful-spirited young lady established a reputation as being an excellent role model among her peers.
She was well loved by her peers, teachers and many, many friends. Ashley is most remembered by the joy she brought to everyone she met. You could always find Ashley with a big smile on her face and positive and happy countenance.
Her popularity in school and community is a testament to her character and considerate, sweet personality. Ashley was not only very active in school but she was also an All-State cheerleader. She competed in national cheerleading competitions and ranked high among best in that sport. Pictures of her accomplishments lined the walls of their store showcasing the Oklahoma Twisters All-Star Cheerleading Tumbling and Dance Team. Ashley’s presence will be missed dearly.
