Bessie King was born November 22, 1945 to Ms. Corean Logwood and Sam Logwood in Charleston, Missouri. Bessie’s loved ones who preceded her in death are: her parents, Corean Logwood and Sam Logwood; sisters, Geraldine Bennett and Emma Jean Logwood; brothers Sam Logwood, Clarence Logwood, Claude Logwood, Robert Logwood and Author Logwood.
Bessie confessed her relationship to Christ at Bethesda Temple Church. She was baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost.
Bessie graduated from Vashon High school as an Honor Student. She went on to work for State Hospital for 28 years. Bessie married James King and out of that union came 6 children: James King (Yvonne King), André L. King, Kevin S. King (Alicia King), Ed L. King, Shanda King Farrar (Christopher Farrar), Janie King Pittman “Bessie’s Baby” (Daryl R. Pittman).
Bessie departed this life on June 10, 2010. She leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sisters, Shirley Reese Bailey, Daine Richardson, and Terry Logwood; her six children; grandchildren, Christopher Farrar, Jr., Braennae Farrar, Kayla King, Cordy King, Ed King, Jr., Erika King, Nyasi O. Owens II, Hassan M. Owens, Kyra M. Pittman, and Shanda M. Pittman; great-grandchildren, Keandre King, and Christopher Farrar III (C3).
