On January 16, 2019 Rowena Alexander Washington made her journey to Heaven. Her daughter, Dana Washington, her sister Yvonne Ward, and a host of nieces and nephews, and loved ones survive her. She was preceded by her husband Maurice E. Washington, her parents James and Mary Alexander, sisters Alberniece Fagen, Clastine DuBose, Boyce Wilkins, Arcelia Williamson, Barbara Orea, and brother Vincent Alexander. Rowena was an educator in the St. Louis City Public school system as a physical ed. and elementary ed. teacher for 30 plus years. She led a life of teaching children not only their ABC’s, but important lessons about life, courtesy, creativity, and being the best person you can be. She was famous for her kindergarten proms. All will miss her smile and wit.
