Dennis Ray Offord was born to the proud parents of Hines and Thelma Offord on June 29, 1952. He was the first born son to that union. His father has preceded him to glory, his mother Thelma is with us today. Dennis was a product of the Chicago public school system, he also attend Malcolm X College on the west side of the city. Dennis was employed by C.L. Smith Inc., in good standings until the time of his passing.
Dennis was a man of many facets, quiet, small in stature, smooth in stride, large in loving, caring, and sharing and will be greatly missed by many. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Thelma Offord; his siblings, Verlyn Haynes, Terri Moore of St. Louis, Don (Katsu) Offord of Osaka, Japan, Francine (Alfonso) Harton, of St. Louis, David (Charlotte) Offord of Eureka, MO, Tony Offord of St. Louis, MO; his loving children, Anita Offord, Dorvel (Belinda) Offord, Sabrina (Alfred) Tatum, Dornella Offord, Dakota Offord; 12 grandchildren, Jamar, Tiffany, Aaron, Perri, Dominique, Alyssa, Dylan, Sondar, Andrew, Te’Vaughn, Tynah, Kyrie; two great-grandchildren, Lil Ray an Braylon, these are the product of his first marriage to Michelle Washington, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and deserving friends. But by far the most his loving wife Marilyn Offord to this union there were no children. He departed this life at his home on Tuesday morning November 16, 2010 like a prince.
