The Honorable Phillip E. Jones, Sr. died peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. He was 62 years old.
Commissioner Jones was engaged in private legal practice for over sixteen years, with a primary focus in the area of family law. In 2000, he was appointed to serve as a Family Court Commissioner for the St. Louis County Circuit Court, Division 65. He was recently reappointed to serve his fourth term on the bench.
He is survived by his wife Linda; his mother Shirley; his children Phillip, Jr. and Danielle; his step-daughter, Allison; his daughter-in-law Jamila; and his mother-in-law Ruby. His children have blessed him with five grandchildren, Alexandria, William, Maya, Phaelin and Christopher. Also, left to celebrate his transition are his siblings, Ronald, Terri and Charles; his sisters-in-law, Laschelle, Marsha and Helena; his brothers-in-law Michael, Alex, Robert, Otto, Matthews and Mark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Daphne and his father Charles E. Jones.
