October 17, 1980, Alan Johnson entered this world shortly after his twin brother Aaron to parents, Alice and Silvester Johnson.
His older sister Patrina welcomed her new
brothers. Alan professed his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at New White Stone Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Deacon, Choir President and Director, and Praise Team member. He further glorified God by
volunteering as the Art Instructor for the Youth Gospel Music Conference of St. Louis.
Educated in the St. Louis Public Schools, Alan graduated from Gateway Institute of Technology and the Upward Bound College Preparatory Academy at Saint Louis University in 1999. That fall, he enrolled at the University of Missouri-Rolla. In 2004, he received his Associate’s Degree in Graphic Arts from St. Louis Community College – Florissant Valley.
He was able to pursue his passion of creating art through various media.
He owned and operated Good Fruit Graphix, a freelance graphic design company. His work was displayed throughout the area. As a teacher’s assistant at Stix Elementary School, he calmly encouraged students to always “do the right thing”.
Alan married De-Andrea Blaylock on September 29, 2012. They created a home where love flourished and nerdy conversations ruled.
Alan smiled his last smile on Friday, May 13, 2016. Cherishing his memory are his loving wife, De-Andrea, parents Silvester and Alice Johnson, sister Patrina (Keith) Jones, brother Aaron (Shafegah) Johnson, nephew Aaron Jr., niece Aariana, god-daughter Madelyn Rose Murphy, god-mother Barbara Scales, his family-in-love the Pittmans/Blaylocks, and a host of other family members and dear friends.
The Family extends sincere thanks and appreciation to all, for the many acts of kindness, comforting words, continued prayers, and countless expressions of love and concern. God’s blessings to each of you.
