Audele McLeod Beeks was born to Wallace Sr. and Bettie Audele (Bessie) McLeod, November 16, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The third of four children, Audele was known for the love that she had for family.
Audele graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Ok., earned her Bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University in Jefferson City. She received her Masters from the University of Illinois. She pursued post graduate studies at St. Louis University, Washington University, and UMSL. Audele married college sweetheart Earl Beeks on June 9, 1948 at Washington Metropolitan A. M.E. Zion Church. To this union of 66 years, three children were born, Tasceaie C. Beeks, Anita L. Beeks, and Earl C. Beeks, Jr.
Audele began her 37 year professional career with St. Louis Public Schools at Washington Elementary. She then served as counselor at Soldan H.S., Cleveland H.S, Southwest H.S., and Gateway Institute of Technology.
Preceding her in death were Earl C. Beeks, Sr., husband, Bessie McLeod, mother, Wallace Beverly McLeod, father; Felicia Johnson, sister; Wallace McLeod, Jr., brother, Patricia Stephenson, sister; Tasceaie C. Beeks, daughter. She is survived by daughter, Anita Beeks Barner, Ph. D., (Robert Barner, Ph.D.) of Los Angeles, CA, son, Earl C. Beeks, Jr., M.D. (Esther Beeks, D.D.S.) of St. Louis, MO, and her 7 grandchildren–Tasceaie Churchwell, Ph. D. (Jason Churchwell. Ph.D.) of Riverside, CA, Alexis Colino, (Michael) Michaun Barner, Robert Barner, Jr., of Los Angeles, CA,; Earl Beeks, III, Victoria Beeks, David Beeks; great
grandchild—Sarah Elena Churchwell of Riverside, CA, Rio Colino, and Valentino Clifford Colino.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Washington Metropolitan AME Zion Church, 613 N. Garrison , St. Louis, MO. 63103. Viewing -10:00 AM, AKA Memorial -10:30 AM, Funeral – 11:00AM,
followed by the burial and repast.
