Clarence James Williams, Jr. was born on May 25, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri to Minnie and Clarence Williams. He was the first of five children.
Clarence worked at AT&T for over 40 years before his retirement in 2013. He enjoyed his work and frequently pointed out popular St. Louis buildings and landmarks where he installed phone lines during his tenure at AT&T. Â Â
Clarence spent the prime of his life with the woman he considered the love of his life, Elinor Farrell Hancock, MD. The couple has been together 13 years total. Â
Clarence enjoyed bicycle and motor cycle riding. He rode his bicycle from St. Louis to Jefferson City and frequently traveled cross-country on his motor cycle—sometimes with Elinor.
Clarence was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016 and succumb to the disease on Thursday, March 21, 2019. He is survived by his adoring wife, Elinor Hancock, MD; his stepchildren Farrell McClure, Brittani Marcell Williams, and Brelon Buckner; the grandchildren he shared with Elinor, Peter James Jackson, Jadyn Williams, Brielle Williams, Blake Williams, and Brandon Marshall Williams; his son-in-law Brandon Williams, his children and grandchildren from a previous marriage; his brothers and sister; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at Wade Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30, 2019 beginning at 1 PM.
