Deacon Doctor Mark Hosea Davis, Senior, a lifelong champion for children, was born December 17, 1953, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was a graduate of Langston and Washington Universities, earning his degrees in music. He was a member of New Sunny Mount Baptist Church, and served on the deacon’s board. He served over four decades as a teacher, most of his time being spent in the University City School District. He transitioned on March 9, 2019 and leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Dr. Evia Davis, daughter Nicole Davis and son Dr. Mark Davis, II.
