Frances D. Johnson

Johnson (nee Miller), Frances D. 16 February 2018. Beloved wife for 14 years of late Rock and Roll Hall of Fame pianist Johnnie Johnson; loving mother of Dale Miller; Zheda Smith, Jerrilyn Miller, and Chastity Hudson, dear sister of Edna Harris and Freddie Miller (late); cherished grandmother and aunt; beloved daughter of late Edna Mae (nee Brown) and Oliver Miller; great aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Frances embodies the qualities most admired in the human spirit. Her reputation for integrity and honesty were shown in the strong support for her husband’s lifetime honors: Congressional Gold Medal of Honor (posthumously) for her late husband Johnnie Johnson in 2016, who was a Montfort Point Marine, the highest civilian honor. She also stood by his side during the path of induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (2001). A delightfully strong woman with humor to match, devoted to her faith, family and friends, Frances will be remembered as a woman who led her life as reflection of her faith. She was a loyal and dedicated friend, and had the tenacity to persevere in the pursuit of the righteous path. Her overriding spirit was of caring nature and the desire to see those around her thrive. Frances will be desperately missed by family, friends and church members. Her spirit will forever light the path of the lives she touched.
