Ruth is a graduate of Douglas High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from Harris Stowe Teachers College and a master’s degree in Counseling from St. Louis University. She served as a Professor of Counseling at Forest Park Community College for 30 years. Additionally, she was an entrepreneur and owned and operated Hallmark Gold Crown Stores. She is survived by her husband, Floyd; sister, Zella Harrington; brother, Robert Mason; and a host of relatives and friends.
