Mrs. Shirley Smith, wife of the late Jazz saxophonist Tab Smith, passed away on September 2, 2017. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Tab, son Talmadge Smith and son Douglas Smith. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Gladys Smith, grandchildren and great grandchildren. At her request there will not be a funeral but the family will receive friends at Austin Layne Mortuary, 7773 Natural Bridge Road, on Sunday September 10 from 3-5pm.
