Marva Lynnette Miller departed this life on September 29, 2016 at the age of 41 years old. Marva was born January 24, 1975 in East St. Louis, IL at Christian Welfare Hospital.
Marva graduated from Hazelwood East High School and continued her education at the University of Missouri St. Louis where she obtained her Bachelor Degree in Criminology. She continued her education at University of Missouri St. Louis receiving two Masters, one in Special Education and the other in Counseling. Marva became a Mental Health Therapist running her own private practice in St. Louis Missouri. Marva was a National Board Certified Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor and worked in the Department of Social Service- Division of Youth Services for 17 dedicated years.
Marva served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of UJAMAA Community Development Corporation and Black Family Land Trust, Inc. from its inception in 2006 to 2011. She was
Chief Executive Officer of Single Parents, Inc. and Board Advisory at UJAMAA 2011 to September 2016.
She also served as a respected and admired Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant for ten years winning
multiple Mary Kay Sales Awards.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her mother, Sherie Perry-O’Bannon (Russell), father, Larry Miller, stepfather, Mark Perry, brothers, Mark Anthony Perry II and Shannon Miller, two daughters, Kiyana Seawright and Mya Jenkins, son Ronald Seawright Jr. and her twin granddaughters KaMya and KaMori and grandmother LaVatie Collins, God father, Emanuel Dye, adored mentor and friend, Charles Quincy Troupe and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Visitation will be held Friday, October 7, 2016 at 10:00AM at First Baptist Church of Webster Groves located at 3251 S. Brentwood Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63119. Funeral service immediately follows at 11:00AM.
The interment ceremony will be held at Valhalla Cemetery.
