The second child born to the proud parents of Louise and Moses Seiber, Sr., Leon (affectionately called “Brother”) made his arrival on September 8, 1936 in Woodville, MS. Leon attended Bleak House School in Centreville, MS. Since he was not able to attend school as often as he would have liked, he always encouraged others to “get that learning,” as he would often say.

Leon was united in holy matrimony to Virginia Stansberry. To this union, four children were born. He was later united in holy matrimony to Daisy L. Anthony on October 2, 1971. To this union, three children were born.

Leon confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior on September 17, 1972 at Second Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Earl Miller. In 1979, he moved his membership to Devotional Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Earbie Bledsoe. He was a faithful member of the church choir, sang with the concert choir and offered his assistance in any area he could at the church.

After moving to St. Louis, Leon worked for 24 years as a machine operator with Moog Automotive before his retirement. Among his hobbies were automotive repair, listening to music and playing guitar. He also coached girls’ softball for over 12 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Daisy L. Seiber; eight children, Joanne, Sharon, Michael, Gail (Bruce), Georgia, Linda (Christopher), Michelle (Jock) and Joyce (Nathaniel); four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Louis (Dorothy), Charles, Moses Jr. (Shirley), Henry (Loreese); one sister, Adeline (Wilbert); his mother-in-law, Helen; one uncle, Charlie ((Ceola); two godchildren, Crystal and Deon; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Leon was preceded in death by his mother and father; three sisters, Rosie, Mary and Martha; two brothers, John and William; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
