Lillie V. “Granny” Pearson of St. Louis has passed at the age of 91.
She was owner of Tillie’s Food Shop at the corner of Garrison and Sheridan Avenues, known as “Tillie’s Corner,” for 40 years.
Beloved grandmother of Carla Renee Pearson, born of the late Arthur and Lucy (Haywood) Arnold of Weldon County, Arkansas on April 17, 1915, passed on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at St. Louis University Hospital.
Dearest mother of Glendora P. Ryce, Robert C. Pearson, Margaret Toms, the late Arthur L. Pearson and Ralph P. Pearson.
Other grandchildren: Rosalyn Pearson-Clerk, Ranette Roberts, Michella Toms, Rolanda Pearson and Artricia Baker; and the late Michelle Toms; great-grandchildren: Syrita Green, Sylvester Jr. and Sidney Clerk and Pauline R. Pearson.
Two sisters-in-law: Arvella Clay Arnold; Addie Pearson resides in Wichita, Kansas. “Aunt Lillie” to a host of nieces and nephews.
Services: Visitation Saturday, December 9 at 10 a.m. Funeral Services, 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 2319 Cass Avenue, St. Louis. The Reverend Jonathan K. Davis, Officiating. Interment at Lake Charles Park Cemetery.
