Carl J. Bruce, longtime contributing photographer to The St. Louis American, passed August 29 at the age of 79 after a struggle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Rose Bruce; children Carl Bruce III (Tia Bruce) and Sheree Bruce-Conyers (Larry Conyers); and a host of family and friends. A family obituary with details of his homegoing service on September 9 will appear in next week’s paper.
