A memorial service celebrating the life of Charles Oldham, lawyer and civil rights activist, will be held at 3 p.m. Oct. 22 at the J.C. Penney Conference Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Oldham died September 13. He was known for taking part in the Jefferson Bank and Stix, Baer & Fuller civil rights protests in the 50s and 60s. From 1956 to 1963, he was national chairman of the Congress of Racial Equality.
The service will include remembrances from Oldham’s colleagues and friends including lawyer and activist Margaret Bush Wilson, and lawyer and former vice president of corporate affairs for Anheuser Busch, Wayman Smith.
Parking will be available in Lots A, B and C. A reception will follow the service.
