On the afternoon of October 4, 2015, Sidney B. Whitfield, Jr. passed away at his home in Frontenac, MO. Born on March 12, 1933 in St. Louis, MO. Sidney was the youngest child of Sidney and Lula Blanchard Whitfield. His parents and siblings preceded him in death. Sidney attended Saint Louis Public Schools and graduated from Sumner High School in 1951. After graduation he went on to serve in the United States Army, attended Gradwohl School of Laboratory and X-Ray Technique and earned Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University in 1970. Sidney started his career as a Chemist at Anheuser-Busch and then went on to Reliable Chemical Company, where he retired in 1995. Sidney was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; and he leaves to cherish his loving memories: his beloved wife of 52 years, Bettye; daughter Lisa Bynam, son-in-law Anderson, and granddaughter Ellison Rose. Two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services for Sidney B. Whitfield, Jr. will take place on Friday, October 9, 2015, 11:00am, First Baptist Church of Chesterfield, 17103 Wild Horse Creek Road, Chesterfield, Missouri 63005.
