Tamara Dobson, the actress best known for her portrayal of government agent Cleopatra Jones in two Hollywood films, has died at the age of 59.

Dobson, whose big break came in 1973 when she took on the title role in “Cleopatra Jones,” died Monday in Baltimore, Md., from complications related to multiple sclerosis and pneumonia.

Dobson followed up her 1973 film, which fell into the 1970’s “blaxploitation” film genre, by reprising the kung-fu fighting role with the 1975 action film, “Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold.”

The one-time tallest leading woman in film according to the “Guinness Book of World Records,” the 6-foot-2-inch former model also helped influence the fashion industry with her degree from the Maryland Institute College of Art.

She is survived by her brother, Peter Dobson, and her sister, Darilyn Dobson.
