Webster Paden, Jr. was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on March 14, 1940 as the fifth child of seven born to Essie Gregory Paden and Webster Paden, Sr. His mother, father and three sisters preceded him in death.
He was baptized at an early age at Hickory Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
He attended Hickory Hill Elementary, Junior High and Senior High Schools. He earned his degree in accounting at the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff. While in college, Webster married Mytlene Gunnels and in 1962 they moved to St. Louis, Mo. To this union four children: Karen, Stanley, Phyllis and Narda were born.
On April 29, 1971, Webster married Betty J. McRoy. To this union three children: Felicia, Melva and Richard were born.
In 1973 they joined Christ Like Unity Mission and he was ordained as a minister in 1974. The church name was changed to Faith United Church of the Living God and he served as Co-pastor for eighteen years.
He was employed by Old Vienna where he spearheaded and designed the Sundance Corn Chip bag. He left Old Vienna and was an entrepreneur of amny businesses: cleaning service, Chinese restaurant, real estate and started his own business P.I.T. Enterprises.
Webster was affectionately known as “Dub,” Uncle Paden and Paden by his family and friends.
Webster departed his life on Tuesday, October 6. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Betty, seven children (Karen Evangelista, Stanley Paden, Phyllis Fitzpatrick, Narda (Byron) Shirley, Felicia Nettles, Melva Paden of St. Louis and Richard Paden of Chicago, Ill.), eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
