Earlier this week, state Representative Amber Holly Boykins threw her hat into the ring for the 4th State Senatorial District seat being term-limited by state Senator Pat Dougherty. It’s the first hat in the ring in what promises to be a real donnybrook. Other candidates expected to join the tussle include state Rep. Yaphett El-Amin, last year’s strong congressional candidate Jeff Smith and state Rep. Rachel Storch. Boykins’ press release offers praise from Governor Matt Blunt, which grates on the EYE’s ears.
