If there is anyone whom everyone can root for, if they even know she exists, that would be Pat Allen, who is running in the 104th House District in the Missouri Bootheel with hopes of becoming the first black representative in that area. The leadership of the Legislative Black Caucus, finding no safe home rooting turf in St. Louis, has been devoting most of its energies, politically and spiritually, to getting her set up on August 8. “Every now and again, the world does fall into place and people do get real representation,” was how Black Caucus Chairman John Bowman rapturously described Allen’s bid.
