Ed Martin’s email inbox and his mishandling of it has ushered in a particularly nasty set of skirmishes in a really ugly contest for governor of Missouri. Martin has confessed to deleting emails that evidently qualify as public records, which left the Republicans in an indefensible position. So they went on the attack instead. Staff ranter Paul Sloca’s latest tirades about Jay Nixon – who, along with Robin Carnahan, has been holding onto emails and turning them over to the state GOP, upon request – have been more than usually hilarious. It’s like your brother killed somebody and confessed to the murder, so you jump up and down screaming that somebody else pulled your sister’s pigtails – and didn’t even say he was sorry!
