Labor tends to be sweet on Koster, but the numbers are against him on one point. There are two men in the Democratic primary (state Rep. Jeff Harris is the other) and only one woman, the well-respected progressive state Rep. Margaret Donnelly. If Democrats vote by gender, and they often do (one of many reasons Hillary Clinton polls better than Barack Obama), Donnelly’s chances are good. A number of female elected officials already have expressed their support of her campaign.
