As the Reed campaign sews up North St. Louis, and works around Chink for his independent-minded voters, some of Reed’s troops have headed south of the Central Corridor and landed in the 14th Ward, where Ald. Steve Gregali was seen last week taking Reed around, introducing him to new faces and proclaiming that he finds Reed to be best qualified as his new boss. With the strong endorsement by Gregali and Reed’s own diverse 6th Ward, Reed continues to peel off various elements in white and racially mixed southern wards. Meanwhile, the Reed campaign was the first to hit local TV with a 30 second image ad, using Reed’s aldermanic achievements and endorsement from the firefighter’s union as its anchor pitch.
