The bitter critic also said, “If the city had something the state wanted, the state would rush right in there. Look how fast Blunt got interested in MOHELA when he saw he could make some money off it.”

Not so fast, boy governor. State Rep. John Bowman has commended the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority Board of Directors for delaying its approval of the most recent plan to sell the agency’s assets, saying, “This delay will allow Missouri Governor Matt Blunt the opportunity to complete the sale legally by going through the Legislature.”

Bowman said Blunt should ask for legislation to make the necessary changes in state law that would allow the sale to proceed without the threat of lengthy litigation, adding, “The proposed sale of MOHELA assets is a major decision that should be made following full and open debate in a public forum and by a vote of elected members of the Legislature.”
