State Rep (and senatorial candidate) Yaphett El-Amin said the EYE got wrong the number of children that she has with her husband, Talibdin El-Amin. The El-Amins do not have twins and a toddler, but a 1-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.
“I don’t apologize for choosing to have a balanced life by enjoying the beauty of motherhood while choosing to serve in public office,” she said. “My time with my husband and children has not prevented me from faithfully serving my constituents in my first, and now my second term in office, and will not present an obstacle to my service as the people’s representative in the Missouri Senate.”
