Triplett clearly has innovation, organizing skill and youth (not to mention height, determination and beauty) on her side, but Cacchione – something of a perennial loser in local politics – may have picked up that most elusive and essential of ingredients: luck. Somehow he was on the scene when USA TODAY reporter Patrick O’Driscoll blew through town to do a national story on the winter storm and resulting power outages.
