The EYE is not entirely sure why some people in town at times broadcast their beefs via mass-distributed emails to media members, but it can make for some fairly interesting in-box moments.
Attorney and activist Eric Vickers, who is launching on everybody in sight regarding their inclusion of minorities in sizable construction projects, got into it recently with Kevin Horrigan, columnist for the Post and member of its editorial board. In a widely distributed email, Vickers tried to point out some blind spots, in terms of race, in a piece Horrigan had written on the subject of inclusion. Horrigan responded to the whole email gang:
Dear Eric—
The black folks/white folks dichotomy doesn’t work for me, or the
conservative/liberal one either. I just try to see things as bullsh*t/not
bullsh*t.

It’s a remarkable claim, isn’t it? Race and political ideology remain, for most of us, very core concepts in understanding the real world. Horrigan must know more, see more, it seems. He has shrugged off the blinders of these crude concepts, and sees the world revealed, simply, as bullsh*t or no bullsh*t.
No race. No politics. Just bullsh*t or not bullsh*t.
