In a brief YouTube video, St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson issued a statement as the city awaits a verdict in the Jason Stockley murder trial. Many expect the verdict to be issued tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 15). Krewson said in her remarks that she doesn’t know when it will be released – and that she does not know the outcome.

She announced a designated protest area at Tucker and Market “protest is the cornerstone of our democracy.”

Krewson said that police will follow proper protocol to stop unlawful behavior and deescalate situations as needed.

:”As I’ve stated before, we may not understand our neighbor, our friends, or even our family member’s reactions, but it is up to each of us to try.”
